In 1987, Nike started the popular shoe series called Nike Air Max trainers for Women. This shoe was unique for its unique air cushion piece, which was located in the mid section of most models. The first shoe type was called the Air Max I, and was later followed by the Air Max II, III and Air Max 180 from 1987 to 2003. The 1993 model had a completely visible cushion unit on the sides and back of the shoe, and the 1997 model featured a full-length air cushion that extended through the entire heel.
These shoes have always been known for their outstanding performance as running shoes. The Air Max 360 is one of the newer additions, and boasts good performance and comfortable wear. Specifically designed for jogging and strength conditioning, these shoes feature the Nike Fly wire that connects from the midsection to the laces for extra support. The large air unit at the bottom provides maximum impact protection and cushioning, while the Diamond FLX pattern on the front makes this shoe incredibly flexible and able to twist in all directions. These delta nodes will deflect any impact on the sole and then spring back into their original shape, preventing it from becoming deformed by the impact.
When running or performing fitness exercises, the feet repeatedly hit the ground with considerable force. This can cause considerable damage to the heel section, causing them to quickly wear out in some areas. Air max trainers do not have this problem however, because the air units on the heels will cushion the impact force and protect the rest of the shoe.
In 2006, the Air Max sneakers 360 were launched which featured a new shoe design, which used cushion through the midsole of the shoe. A few months later, the ‘one time only pack’ was introduced that combined the 360 with three classic designs. These three shoes were the 90, 95, and 97 series. For this exclusive release, the sole for the 360 was used to replace the sole for the classics, although the rest of the shoe remained intact. The shoes were released in their three original colors, grey and silver for the 97, green and yellow for the 95, and red for the 90. Like many other Nike shoes, deluxe models were also produced. The deluxe shoes could last for over 500 miles before their shock absorbing properties wore out. All Air Max trainers are made to ensure quality performance and long shoe life for both indoor and outdoor use.
